The Louisville Alumnae chapter and the Beta Gamma chapter at the University of Louisville have co-sponsored the Miss University of Louisville pageant since 2008. We currently present two titles each year; Miss U of L and Miss Cardinal Country. The Miss U of L pageant is part of the Miss America system and a Miss Ky preliminary pageant.
Since the start of the pageant in 2008, the pageant has raised over $100,000 in scholarship money. We are thankful to the President's office at U of L for providing two 1/2 semester scholarships. In addition, the Beta gamma chapter has donated $30,000 as well. The money has helped pay for tuition and books for our title holders.
We are very proud of our title holders who have moved on to compete for the Miss Kentucky title and have represented the University of Louisville throughout the years at various events. These young women are smart, involved and talented and have continued to support the Miss U of L pageant as alumna.
We were honored to have Heather French Henry serve as the first emcee of the Miss U of L pageant. Her support during our first year speaks to her dedication and belief of the values and purpose of the Miss America pageant system.
Most of our title holders have finished in the top 10 at the Miss Kentucky pageant. We are also proud of the fact that many of our title holder's began their pageant careers by participating in Miss U of L. Photographed is Olivia Henken, the 2012 Miss Kentucky first runner-up - she served as the 2011 Miss University of Louisville.
The Miss University of Louisville pageant is open to all U of L female students - (full-time/part-time/graduate and undergraduates) competing for the Miss UL title. The Miss Cardinal Country Title has the same criteria as above but is also open to all female student who are enrolled in college and are Kentucky residents.
